Here’s how Snickerdoodles on the Hoppefam lively came into being. In the versus battle between Harry Potter and Luke Skywalker, Harry has come out victorious. In all fairness, Harry has 7 plus books and 8 movies and Luke really has just the 3 movies (there are books, but I don’t think they’re “cannon” and I’m not counting the movies where Luke is older. I have my reasons.) But that’s just to say that we haven’t had the opportunity to become as involved in Luke’s life and we have in Harry’s. The people love Harry Potter!
So in honor of Harry’s Victory, I give you the Hoppefam Snickerdoodles. Elise did an excellent job making these. We use butter instead of shortening, so it is a flatter snickerdoodle. But the butter also makes it flaky. I love flaky!
Here’s how it’s done:
- 1 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 2 3/4 cup flour
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1/2 tsp salt
Cream together the butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and mix well. Add remaining dry ingredients and blend well. Shape into 1 inch balls and roll in equal parts cinnamon and sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet. bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Makes about 36 cookies.
Soooo good! And remember to love yourself! You are amazing. Just the fact that you hold within you a beating heart–that miracle of engineering!–makes you incredible! And that’s not to mention the talents, personality and beauty of you! Love your friends. Love your family. Love you!
